Attorney/Staff ID - Personal Identification Verification (PIV) Badge Registration

Attorney and Licensed Private Investigator (PIV) ID Badges for Courthouse facilities are controlled by the Nueces County Sheriff's Office. The Attorney and Private Investigator (PIV) ID cards are part of the Courthouse security upgrades in progress.

The cost is $40 per year per card. Checks will be accepted in the NCSO Badging Office, 901 Leopard Room 102-A, Corpus Christi, Texas 78401. Please make the checks out to Nueces County Courthouse Security.

Step 1 – Applicant requests for an Attorney PIV badge through an on-line form Request an attorney ID Badge.

Applicant requests for a Licensed Private Investigator PIV through an on-line form Request a licensed private investigator ID Badge.

Step 2 – Applicant will receive a code via email from FTI (example below).

You have been sponsored for a PIV-1 credential. When you’re ready, please collect your identity documents and visit a Registration Authority to proceed with enrollment.

Step 3 – Applicant schedules in-person appointment via email to complete enrollment process. Schedule an appointment.

Step 4 – Bring two acceptable forms of ID to your appointment to prove your identity. Both documents must be original (not copies) and current (not expired). You WILL NOT be issued a badge without meeting this requirement.

Step 5 – Set a personal identification number (PIN) that is 8 digits and meets complexity requirements. Then accept responsibility for the card.

Important note: Make sure your name on at least one of these documents is your current legal name and matches exactly the name entered the PIV system.

The Badging Coordinator authenticates your identity, scans your ID documents, and captures your biometrics (photograph and fingerprints).
