Brent Chesney

Brent Chesney was elected in 2014 and was sworn in as Nueces County Commissioner, Precinct 4 on January 1, 2015. Precinct 4 encompasses all of Port Aransas, North Padre Island and Flour Bluff and includes parts of the Southside of Corpus Christi from Ocean Drive to the London Independent School District. Commissioner Chesney previously served as the Presiding Judge for Nueces County Court at Law Number 5. He was also an at large Corpus Christi City Councilman from 2001-2007 and 2009-2010. Commissioner Chesney is married to Ashley Chesney and they have two children: Joshua and Gabriel.

Commissioner Chesney is the CEO of First Title Company and an attorney who does real estate document preparation. Commissioner Chesney's true passion is his family and his faith in God. He grew up a proud member of First Christian Church and was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church and is now a member of Church Unlimited. Commissioner Chesney has coached his son's basketball and soccer teams and has worked for and donated to many community boards, commissions, councils, projects and charities too numerous to count or name.

Commissioner Chesney believes that government should run much like a business and that we should spend only what we take in and that government should always remember the money we spend is not our money but rather the people’s money. Commissioner Chesney also believes in bringing government to the people and not making the people always come to government. In that vein, he has opened part time satellite offices in Port Aransas, North Padre Island and Flour Bluff so that he is accessible to his constituents. Commissioner Chesney began serving his third four-year term on January 1, 2023.
