About the Board

Members of this board are appointed by the Nueces County Commissioners Court. The purpose and focus of the Nueces County Child Welfare Board is to attend community events, to provide information and to promote community awareness and advocacy concerning the foster care system and abused and neglected children. We promote the health, education and welfare of children and families through advocacy, public information and education. We also work with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) and various other governmental and non-profit agencies to enhance the county Child Welfare program.
