Biography

The Honorable Timothy J. McCoy was born in Victoria, Texas but moved to Corpus Christi at the age of 8. He attended local public schools and Graduated Richard King High School in 1996. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin and South Texas College of Law. After Graduating Law school in 2003, he returned to Corpus Christi and began his career. Tim McCoy has a broad range of legal experience both civil and criminal. He has spent his entire career handling juvenile cases and cases involving the abuse and neglect of children and the elderly. Tim McCoy was elected in 2015.

Description of Office

Nueces County Court at Law 5 is a unique Court with a specialized Docket. Court 5 hears all cases filed in Nueces County involving Juvenile Delinquency and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, also known as “Child Protective Services” and “Adult Protective Services”. Court 5 also hears all of the county’s Guardianship cases and Justice Court appeals.
